About Us

Vintage Living opened in October 2003 in the historic and individual town of Totnes, South Devon. Diana Warszawski who owns the shop, came from London to Totnes after becoming engaged to a local upholsterer in Dartmouth.

Diana grew up around Notting Hill in London, and at an early age scoured the famous antiques market of Portobello Road, developing an early passion for the antiques business. Totnes seemed like a familiar place with an enjoyable antique flea market on Fridays, which often has live street musicians playing in the summer months. An interesting place for a weekend visit!

Now only into the second year of trading, Vintage Living has already developed a good core base of customers, with news of the shop spreading all the time by word of mouth. Already there are dozens of people who have visited Totnes from the middle and north of England waiting to hear news of the new website.

Vintage Living is a lifestyle shop offering an eclectic blend of old and new, with a good selection of distressed painted furniture, as featured in many of the country lifestyle magazines. Diana travels all over the UK, sourcing an exciting range of country furniture and accessories. She also has many contacts who import from France, Sweden, USA and Ireland. The mixture of old and new means a lot of extra work travelling to trade fairs and antique fairs, but Diana feels the rewards of regular customers makes it all worthwhile. The aim is to offer a tempting and unique collection to enhance the homes of rural England and satisfy those many people who appreciate rustic country living. There’s also an interersting array of gifts that you just won’t want to give away!

From time to time, we have in the past and will in the future, be exhibiting at antique or home interiors fairs, so please check our ‘exhibitions’ page.
